Welcome to the Barre Town Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Barre Town Parent-Teacher Organization (P.T.O.) is made up of parents and staff whose main purpose is to support the children of our school community by providing additional resources and sponsoring academically enriching programs through fundraising.
This year meetings will be held the first Thursday of the month in the Barre Town Middle and Elementary School Library at 6:30p.m. Everyone is welcome.
All of our funds raised are channeled back into school events or equipment needed to help our students grow emotionally and academically. Recent PTO sponsored programs include subsidy for school field trips, the monthly school bookstore, prizes for collecting materials for the Box Tops and Labels for Education programs, buying play equipment for recess, bringing in educational programs into the school such as the VINS Owl presentation for Kindergarten, Author Visits and Staff Appreciation Week. We have also been able to help the Boys and Girls Running Club with t-shirts for a 5K and body microphones for the Drama Club!
The PTO helps hold fun family events such as a Family Movie Night, Bingo/Snowshoe Event, and helps with the BTMES Carnival. We also try to help with other events during the school day if volunteers are needed.
You can show your support of the Barre Town PTO in a variety of ways. Every year we are in need of parents to help volunteer to participate or organize different school events. We are always in need of new creative ideas of activities to hold at the school for our community. You do not need to be able to come to a monthly meeting to participate in the PTO, simply email our PTO President or a member of the PTO and we will be able to gladly match your abilities and time commitments to a specific need or task. Our goal is to work together to show our Barre Town School Spirit and provide our children the best possible opportunities!
The PTO is also on Facebook. Please feel free to find us at “Barre Town PTO”, here you will find updates and reminders about fundraisers and events hosted by the PTO. Thank you.
