Boy Scouts Flag Donation

Barre Town 6th grade students Derek Chase and Evan Cross, members of Boy Scout Troop #714,  noticed that our school’s flag was tattered and needed to be appropriately retired and replaced. On April 11th, with a flag donated by Troop #714, Derek and Evan, along with fellow scouts Logan Cross, Victor Geno and Wesley Wilken (6th grade) and Chris Ferrant (7th grade)  held an official ceremony to remove the old flag and raise the new flag. The 6th grade class along with a number of family members of the scouts attended the ceremony, which ended with the boys leading all present in the Pledge of Allegiance.  We are proud of these students in their display of patriotism as citizens of the United States of America and members of our school community.
