Jordan Romero, the youngest person to climb the seven summits, visited Barre Town Middle Schoolers on Friday, May 3rd. Jordan climbed Mt. Everest when he was 13, and finished his 7th summit at the age of 15. His book, No Summit Out of Sight, is read by all 6th graders in an cross-curricular Global Studies & ELA unit. He spent time with each middle school grade, sharing his story and talking about how to set and work towards goals. Students had the opportunity to purchase his book and get it signed while he was here. Jordan had a great message for all our middle schoolers; find something you’re passionate about, break your goal down into small steps, and work hard towards that goal everyday. Thanks to our supportive PTO for making this author visit happen!
