	Presentation to the School Board: Development Reading Assessment Results (DRA) - November 15, 2006

The New Common Assessment Program (NECAP) results are posted for your review and analysis. This is the second year of the state assessment. We have provided you with overall student performance in the areas of reading, mathematics and writing. You will see the achievement level of each grade in the categories of reading, mathematics and in 5th and 8th grade writing. We also provided you with the achievement results by each grade and in the categories of children of poverty (SES) and children of disability (IEP).

The second grade Developmental Reading Assessment (DRA) is an individual assessment administered to every second grader in the Barre Town Middle and Elementary School. The results begin to describe the different cohort groups (second grade) since 1999 -2006. You will read about the performance of children of poverty and the second grade children who had participated in the Reading Recovery Program.
