TITLE: Employing Teachers (Contracted Personnel)     CODE: GCAAA

I. Employing Teachers (Contracted Personnel)

The board will approve the hiring of new teachers and approve the annual contract renewal for teachers within the system.

Procedure:

When a vacancy in a teacher position arises, the following procedure will be followed:

  1. The administration will solicit applicants as a screening process. Other school personnel will be involved in the interviews as deemed necessary by the administration.

  2. The administration will recommend to the Superintendent the applicant(s) for specific position.

  3. The Superintendent will interview the final applicant(s). The Superintendent and administration will agree on a candidate. The Superintendent will recommend person to the Board.

  4. The Board will instruct the Superintendent to proceed with the hiring of individuals approved following a review of resume, transcripts and references.

  5. The Board will be notified of a transfer of teaching duties from one grade level to another. This will not prevent any temporary transfers of an emergency or temporary duration until the next scheduled School Board meeting.
