Medical Examinations

Standard

All employees may be required to have yearly medical examinations prior to the start of each school year and/or during the school year.

Procedures

  1. Personnel, full or part-time, who are in this system may be required to submit to a complete and thorough medical examination. The purpose of these examinations is to ascertain that no illnesses exist which could be detrimental to the pupils, the teachers, or to the school system. Forms required by the system in conjunction with the health examination must be submitted as evidence of meeting the requirements of this policy.

  2. Examinations will be secured from a professional licensed to perform medical examinations.

  3. Should an employee fail to comply with the request for a medical examination, that employee will be subject to withholding of salary, suspension and dismissal. The decision to withhold salary or suspend will be made by the Superintendent of Schools. In the case of dismissal, action by the Board is required.
